ATTORNEY - STAFF (Assistant to General Counsel)

Qualified candidates must be a highly motivated, recent law school graduate to act as the Assistant to General Counsel of our dynamic regional real estate investment/development company. GENERAL SUMMARY: The successful applicant for this full-time, entry-level position will work under general supervision, performing daily work assignments provided by the Property Manager in relation to the operation of properties, and any other additional properties as they become part of the company’s portfolio. Will also work closely with the Property Manager to help identify and implement creative problem-solving ideas. There is a clear path to promotion/supervisory position if initiative, competency, and communication skills are exhibited. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS: Qualified candidate must have their own vehicle and a valid driver’s license; and must possess adequate proficiency and communication skills to deliver excellent customer service. Qualified candidate should be self-motivated and detail oriented. Job duties include, but are not limited to: • Respond to tenant request work orders; resolve issues in a timely and professional manner • Perform preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation systems; HVAC knowledge helpful, but not required • Keep accurate and complete property management records • Maintain a working knowledge of a building’s life safety equipment and operation, including but not limited to fire alarm panels, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, fire alarm drill procedures, tenant evacuation, emergency generators, and blackout procedures • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and governmental agency and Company directives as related to building operations • Monitor and adjust all mechanical/pneumatic equipment, control gauges, distributor panels, valves, thermostats, diffusers and other equipment necessary to provide a comfortable environment for the buildings • Inspect mechanical room equipment, fan room equipment, cooling tower, all motors, house pumps and sump pumps • Respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns • Perform other duties as assigned EFFORT: Physical efforts include stopping, standing, climbing, shoveling and frequent lifting of 50 pounds of equipment, and occasional lifting of 100 pounds (pumps, tools, ladders). Must be able to see, hear and speak. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum high school education or GED equivalent.
